Boys and Men Healing documentary will be screened at the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests International Conference at 8p on Sat. night, July 31, 2010 in Chicago. Mark Crawford, who is one of the men profiled in Boys and Men Healing, will be present for an introduction and Q&A session after the film.
Mark is NJ State Director of SNAP and a staunch advocate protecting children against further abuse by pedophile priests. His story highlighted in the film, is a true hero’s journey of a survivor working successfully against all odds to change unjust laws and to seek justice for survivors, while protectecting children from further clergy abuse. Mark’s own healing, along with his relentless efforts and tenacity, his sweat and tears fighting the Catholic Church, and his passion to educate about pedophiles in communities, inspires us to join his cause by film’s end. Senator Joe Vitale, New Jersey State Senator who was instrumental in helping Mark change important laws says , “While it is clear this film will help survivors heal and providers treat, I see an even greater purpose. Use this film to educate lawmakers, serve on Commissions, run for public office, and become the agents for change”. Today, Mark Crawford is out on the front lines working to change the statute of limitation laws in New Jersey, living a productive life, and passionately committed to speaking out about pedophiles still living in communities, and making lasting change.
