2.  FEATURE THE BRISTLECONE PROJECT AT YOUR EVENT.

Bristlecone Project features powerful Portraits and Biographies of Male Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse created by Dr. David Lisak in partnership with 1in6, Inc.  (Dr. Lisak personal story is also featured in Boys and Men Healing film.)  A film featuring Bristlecone Project, along with posters and materials to download will be available by April.  To inquire about hosting Bristlecone at your SAAM event, please email: martha@1in6.org.

Big Voice Pictures recently produced this important documentary for Vertigo Charitable Foundation. The film helps survivors navigate the complexities of the court system and process, while guiding professionals in the field to consider needed reform, best practices, and ways we can better support adult survivors.  Learn more about the film here.

4. HOST A DARE TO DREAM event with MaleSurvivor.org

Healing for male survivors of childhood sexual abuse

As part of their Dare to Dream events and panel discussions with leaders in the field, MaleSurvivor.org screens Boys and Men Healing in communities nationwide.  Dare to Dream, free and open to the public, is intended for male survivors of sexual abuse/assault and their loved ones, supportive partners, friends, or family members, and mental health professionals, offers a message of hope and healing for abuse survivors. Sexual Assault Awareness Month 2015 Tool  kit Visit the National Sexual Violence Resource Center’s for their The SAAM 2015 campaign!

6.  HERO’S JOURNEY WORKSHOP 

Heros Journey for abuse survivors

Boys and Men Healing: A Hero’s Journey, is a lively, interactive workshop focusing on the healing journey of  male survivors of childhood abuse featured in our film.  In these 3hr workshops  we screen the film, discuss our storytelling style following the inspirational model of the hero’s journey in filmmaking, and meet in groups to dispel myths about male survivors, appreciating their healing journey as the hero’s journey.  Inquire here.

7.  JOIN THE 1BLUESTRING CAMPAIGN! 

1IN6 MEN SEXUALLY ABUSED IN CHILDHOOD

1BlueString is a campaign that asks guitarists to replace 1 of their 6 strings with a blue string to symbolize the 1 in 6 men who have survived childhood sexual abuse. Find out more about this wonderful campaign!
